Join us for a fun outdoor tour of Geneva in the theme of Witchcraft & Wizardry – Murder by Magic on Saturday, 7th of October.
Embark with us on a captivating journey that is perfect for groups of friends, singles, couples and families. We will be 6 adults per team and kids will join their parent’s team. You can even dress up for the theme if you would like to for chances to win prizes. Along the route, we will hunt for clues, solve puzzles and uncover the secrets of the city of Geneva.

Sunday 03 September 2023 Gorges de l’Areuse Hike
On 3rd of September, this incredible hike will go through the Areuse gorges, 11 km in length, located between Noiraigue and Boudry in the canton of Neuchâtel. Two different hike lengths offered (7.5km and 11.4km). Hike is considered relatively easy by Swiss standards and suitable for families (no strollers).
This beautiful hiking trail runs along the River Areuse. The trail crosses stone bridges, has walkways and stairways, goes around beautiful rock formations and remarkably steep rock faces.
Lunch will be picnic style along the way!
Bring: Picnic, water (minimum 2 liters), sturdy shoes with good grip, hat, appropriate clothing for weather. Optional: hiking poles.

Join us on Saturday, 26th of August at 12:00, for something new this year – Accrobranche, also known as tree climbing or forest adventure, is an outdoor activity that originated in France, offering a unique blend of adventure, sports, and nature appreciation. It involves navigating through a course of ropes, bridges, swings, and zip-lines suspended between trees, typically in a forest or woodland setting. We will do it in a convenient location in Geneva – accessible both by car and bus in Onex. After the Accrobranche, we will do a picnic where everyone brings something to eat or drink.
Accrobranche is suitable for a wide range of individuals – from children and families to adventure enthusiasts and groups like us. Joining an Accrobranche activity is a great way to break away from the mundane and immerse oneself in the thrilling embrace of nature. It provides a unique perspective on the forest’s canopy and wildlife, offering a bird’s eye view that few other activities can.

Celebrating midsummer is a great Nordic/Scandinavian tradition that we follow here in Geneva as well! Join your fellow northerners – Swedes, Finnish, Danish, Norwegian, and Icelandic citizens are all welcome as are their families and friends! Sunday 16 April 2023 Toblerone Hike & Picnic
Join us for this historically interesting hike above Nyon. We will enjoy going down along the Toblerones, past a fortess, have a picnic by the lake, and then come back to Nyon train station past the Chateau de Prangins and past some beautiful views of wineyards and the Nyon castle.
The Toblerones in this case are not chocolate – but own their name to their shape. They are a line of concerete anti-tank defensive fortifications built between 1939 and 1945. These run for tens of kilometers from the foot of the Jura to Lake Geneva. We will start in Bassins, following the toblerones past Begnings and Vich. We will get off the Toblerone trail at Route Swiss and continue to Prangins where we will have a picnic before finishing the hike in Nyon.
The hike is about 15 kilometers in total. We will hike first 11 km (mostly downhill) to our picnic location on the shores of Lake Geneva. After the picnic we will walk back to the Nyon train station. There is an option to stop walking and take a small detour around 9 km and take the train back to Geneva from Gland skipping the picnic.
There is in the beginning a bit steeper part where hiking poles and sturdy shoes can be helpful. Same applies mid-way through when joining the Toblerones, especially if it has rained since this small part can be slippery. Otherwise, the hike is mostly slight downhill/flat. In the end, we do have to hike a bit up from the lake to the level of the train. Don’t forget your sunscreen, water and a hat.

Note: Don’t forget take water for the hike. There is a place to fill (most likely unless water is turned off) your bottle after 2-3 km of hiking, after that refilling might be more difficult.

Join us for a sauna, hamam or Turkish bath all while having a great view of Geneva’s lake-front skyline!
Meeting point for those who want to go to the sauna before dinner is at 18:45 in the Rotonde (sauna entrance nearby buvette).
All you need to bring:

Following the sauna, we will gather in the restaurant next door and enjoy a great cheese fondue accompanied by traditional dried meat and white wine. Costs will be shared among the participating NC folks (Please bring cash, as no cards accepted!).
Meeting point is 20:30 in the restaurant (reservation for Nordics Club).

We have the Nyon Sauna reserved privately for us from 19:00 onwards on Friday 24 February 2023.
This is one of the best, if not the best, sauna in the region! Wood burning stove, right on the lake at Nyon beach!
Besides Sauna, we will be providing you with drinks and food!
So, you will get a private Sauna, Food and Drinks – all for just 40 CHF for members and 50 for non-members! Great value in Switzerland!

Thursday 16 February 2023 General Assembly 2023
Save the date for Thursday, 16 February at 19:00 for General Assembly.
Join us and give us feedback on what kind of events you would like to see, what are your favorites, and vote in board members.
We are looking for a few extra volunteers to help us with 1-2 events a year. You can choose an area of interest for you – hikes, dinners, activities – anything that is of interest to you and might be of interest to other members. It is fun! Joining the board is also a great resume builder for those needing to show management experience and organisational skills!

The Nordics Christmas Dinner is on Saturday, December 10th!

Wine tasting at 17:00 at the Domaine Les Faunes
Join us for pre-dinner wine tasting at the Domaine Les Faunes, a family estate for three generations in Dardagny. The domain features 17 different grape varieties and wines that will surprise you. They can answer questions and you can even have your wine purchases shipped to you!

Christmas Dinner at Chateau de Dardagny
Continue to the Chateau de Dardagny after the wine tasting, or join us directly at the Chateau for the buffet dinner at this historically significant Swiss heritage site. The dinner is hosted by Sally who works at the Chateau and is a member of the Nordics Club. The dinner will be served buffet-style.

Train Geneva-La Plaine 16:18 – 16:37
We will walk from La Plaine to Dardagny (ca 2.5km nice walk)
There is also a minibus service from the station to Dardagny.
The train leaves on platform 5 at Gare Cornavin

A normal TPG ticket for Geneva covers the transports. For example, a day pass CHF 5.60 with demi-tarif.
Going back
Train La Plaine – Geneva 22:32-22:42 and 23:23-23:42. We will walk from Dardagny to La Plaine.
Other trains: 21:23-21:42, last train at 00:23!
There is also a minibus service from Dardagny to the station.

Thursday 03 November 2022 November Sauna and/or Fondue! Afterwork!
Join us for a sauna, hamam or Turkish bath all while having a great view of Geneva’s lake-front skyline!
Meeting point for those who want to go to the sauna before dinner is at 18:45 in the Rotonde (sauna entrance nearby buvette).
All you need to bring:
▪ a towel ▪ a pair of flip-flops ▪ entry fee
As always, NC members can join the sauna at the discounted rate of CHF 16 instead of CHF 22 regular fee!
DINNER
Following the sauna, we will gather in the restaurant next door and enjoy a great cheese fondue accompanied by traditional dried meat and white wine. Costs will be shared among the participating NC folks (Count with CHF 40 for starters, fondue, dessert and wine. Please bring cash, as no cards accepted!).
Meeting point is 20:30 in the restaurant (reservation for Nordics Club).
