Nordics and Scandinavian Resources in Geneva and Surrounding Areas

Welcome to our guide to Nordic and Scandinavian resources in Switzerland, created especially for members of the Nordic community living in or visiting the region. Whether you’re looking for an embassy, a Nordic-language school, a local cultural group, or even a Swedish-speaking doctor in Geneva, you’ll find helpful information here.

We’ve organized the information by country to help you find exactly what you need:

Each section includes embassy and consulate contacts, cultural and language groups, community events, and local services offered in your language.

Many of our members live not only in Geneva but also in Vaud (including Nyon, Morges, and Lausanne) and in the nearby French border region (such as Pays de Gex and Haute-Savoie). We’re happy to include services that are based within approximately one hour of Geneva or that offer remote services in Nordic languages.

Looking for more local tips about life in Geneva or surrounding areas?

Be sure to check out our Local Info – Geneva page for practical details on living in the area, from sports clubs like Rugby Club Nyon to housing, schools, and other helpful resources shared by our members.

Nordic or Scandinavian – What’s the Difference?

We use the term Nordic to include all five countries: Finland, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, and Iceland. Many people also use Scandinavian more broadly to describe this group. Whichever term you prefer, this page connects you to the people, institutions, and services that support the Nordic and Scandinavian communities in Switzerland.

Services in Nordic Languages

If you’re looking for services in Finnish, Swedish, Norwegian, Danish, or Icelandic, you’re in the right place. Whether you need a healthcare provider, school, relocation service, or cultural connection, we aim to highlight helpful local and online resources.
