If you are looking for the Nordics.ch legal notice, disclaimer and privacy policy, it can be found here. Below are the rules and disclaimers for the Viking of the Year.
Rules & Disclaimer
The Viking of the Year competition is a fun and friendly initiative run by the Nordics Club Geneva to celebrate the spirit of participation, community, and Nordic flair throughout the year. By joining events or taking part in club activities, members automatically earn Viking Points – no separate entry or purchase is required.
Eligibility:
Participation is open to all Nordics Club Geneva members and event attendees regardless of nationality or origin. Some events may have age restrictions or content not suited for younger participants; parental guidance is advised. The Club reserves the right to disqualify anyone who behaves in a manner inconsistent with the spirit of fair play or community guidelines.
How to Earn Points:
Viking Points may be awarded for attending events, answering quizzes, guessing competition results, bringing friends, promoting the club, or other community actions at the discretion of the organizing team. The exact breakdown may vary over the year and is managed internally to encourage good vibes and community engagement.
Viking Names:
Participants may be offered the opportunity to receive or choose a Viking Name. Names must remain respectful and appropriate for all audiences. The Nordics Club Geneva reserves the right to reject, modify, or revoke any name at any time, at its sole discretion, particularly if it is deemed offensive, inappropriate, misleading, or otherwise not in the spirit of the community.
Prizes:
Winners will be honored with the title “Viking of the Year” and receive Viking-themed symbolic prizes such as a helmet, hammer, or similar memorabilia or medals. These are non-transferable and have limited commercial value.
Data & Privacy:
By participating in events, you agree that your name and Viking Points may be displayed on the scoreboard on our website and event materials. We take privacy seriously and only collect minimal necessary data to operate the competition. Your data will never be sold or shared with third parties.
Participation in Paid Events:
Some Viking Points may be awarded for participating in events that require a paid ticket (e.g. theater or dinners). These ticket costs are strictly for event access and not for entry into any prize competition. Viking Points are a bonus for participation, not a purchase incentive.
Liability:
The Nordics Club Geneva, its board members, and event organizers accept no liability for any loss, injury, damage, or inconvenience arising from participation in the Viking of the Year competition or related events. Participation is voluntary and at the participant’s own risk.
Final Provisions:
The competition is not a lottery or game of chance and complies with Swiss law. No cash alternatives are available. The organizing team reserves the right to adjust the rules, point structure, or prize details at any time, including during the competition period, if deemed necessary. Updates will be posted on the official Nordics Club website or communicated through other channels including but not limited to newsletters, Nordic whatsapp group, social media. The Club also reserves the right to cancel or suspend the award in case of unforeseen circumstances.
May the most legendary Viking win eternal glory (and some fabulous gear or a medal)!
