After last year’s big success, and to celebrate the Nordics Club’s 70th Anniversary, it’s time again for a 3-hour boat cruise on the ‘Neptune’, the oldest cargo sailing boat on Lake Geneva – drinks, food and entertainment inclusive! This unique event takes place on Sunday 25 August 2019 from 16:00 to 19:00. Boarding is from 15:30 at Quai Marchand, Geneva (next to Bateau ‘Genève’, between Jardin Anglais and Jet d’Eau), and we will also return back there.

from  15:30 Boarding & welcome apéro
                          16:00 Cast off!
16:00-19:00 Relaxed cruise with Nordic food buffet, open bar, live choir, DJ
19:00 Back at Quai Marchand & disembarkment

An exclusive buffet dinatoire by GRAVAT Genève will indulge us with a selection of finest Nordic delicacies: marinated filet mignon of reindeer, mustard/tarragon & szechuan/lime gravlax (dry-cured salmon filet), Toast Skagen (shrimps & fish roe), and a selection of side dishes.

An open bar will be available throughout the event, offering non-alcoholic beverages as well as wine, beer, Aperol Spritz and a selection of liquors.

The Norwegian Choir of Geneva will entertain us with two 15-minute singing sessions during the cruise, performing a spirited repertoire of Nordic and English seafaring songs.

DJ Qü! will play the best chill-out tunes from Scandinavia, Finland and Iceland during the first part, and international shake-your-legs dance music during the second part of the cruise.

Pictures from last year’s cruise can be found here.

A printable version of the registration form can be found on the official invitation.

Space on the ‘Neptune’ is limited. Registrations will be taken on first-come-first-serve basis until Thursday 15 August 2019. We will send you an email with the confirmation of registration and the payment details (bank transfer, PayPal).

In case of short-term available space, last-minute show-ups will be accepted directly on the ‘Neptune’. Exact cash payments only, including an upcharge of CHF 10 per person.

Important information:

  • The ‘Neptune’ will leave at Quai Marchand at 16:00 sharp.
  • There are a limited number of seats and two toilets available.
  • High heels are not allowed – otherwise you will punch holes in the deck and the boat will sink…  😉
  • Given the large number of passengers, we will not set sails but cruise by engine.
  • Children are most welcome on board. Participation is free until the age of 8 years. Please note that there are only 12 children life vests available on the ‘Neptune’, so space for children under 14 years is therefore limited. In any case, the participation of children is subject to the supervisory duty of their accompanying adults.
  • The use of public transports to get there and back from is highly recommended. Please use the Mont-Blanc parking garage or the side streets in Eaux-Vives for your car.
  • You might want to bring sun cream and a sweater or jacket as wind / light rain protection.
  • Once confirmed, registrations are binding but can be canceled until 15 August 2019, and we will reimburse the paid fee. Afterwards cancellations are not possible, but you can send a replacement. Non-show-ups will not be reimbursed their money.
  • In case of bad weather, the ‘Neptune’ crew reserves the right to cancel the cruise. In that case, the event will take place on the Bateau ‘Genève’, the steamboat just next to the ‘Neptune’ (it will not leave the harbour). There will be no refunds in case of change of location.
  • In case of doubtful weather, we will inform participants about the event’s location by email and on our Facebook page. You can also reach us via mobile phone on Sunday 25 August (number will be shared among participants).
  • The Nordics Club Geneva might take videos and photos during this event. With your participation you give your consent that this footage can be published on the Nordics Club Geneva website and Facebook pages/groups, or used for other promotional activities of the Nordics Club Geneva.

Looking forward to seeing you! Yours as always,

The NC Board
