Snowshoeing, Sauna & Raclette 

on Saturday 20 January 2018
(St-Cergue / Nyon)

Join us for an afternoon snowshoeing in the beautiful Jura Mountains near St Cergue, followed by a sauna at Nyon lakefront reserved exclusively for the Nordics Club, offering spectacular views of Lake Geneva. Finally, to recharge our batteries, we move locations again and settle down for a raclette dinner at Nyon Castle!

  

Snowshoeing: Meet at Nyon train station to take the train up to St Cergue (behind the station – Jura side) at 13:52, arriving in La Givrine at 14:38.
If you’re coming from Geneva you can take the 13:30 Interregional train and change at Nyon station.
If you’re driving or would like a lift, please let us know so we can coordinate carpooling as necessary.
The snowshoeing rental is within walking distance of La Givrine station.
What to bring: ▪ winter clothing (ideally waterproof trousers, gloves, hat etc.) ▪ sturdy footwear e.g. hiking boots ▪ snowshoes (optional) ▪ water ▪ a change of clothes if you’re staying for dinner

Sauna: Meeting point is at the Nyon beach (‘Plage communale des trois-jetées, Route de Genève 12, 1260 Nyon’) at 18:00.
The sauna is reserved until 20:00.
What to bring: ▪ a towel ▪ a pair of flip-flops (recommended) ▪ water ▪ swimsuit (optional)

Dinner: Meeting point for the raclette is at Nyon castle basement (Caveau) at 20:30.

After an hour or so of snowshoeing in the Jurassic mountains near St Cergue, we will head down to the lake side in Nyon where the exclusively for the NC reserved sauna (www.bains3jetees.ch) offers a spectacular view on lake Geneva. To recharge our batteries, we will move locations again and settle down for a raclette or fondue dinner at Nyon castle.

Costs:

  • Snowshoe rental: 20 CHF
  • Sauna: 15 CHF
  • Dinner: 50 CHF, includes raclette ‘à gogo’, cold cuts, fruit salad, coffee and wine
  • Non-members pay an additional surcharge of CHF 10 for the day

Please confirm your participation in the snowshoeing, sauna and/or raclette dinner by e-mail as soon as possible and no later than 7 January 2018 to nordicsclub@gmail.com with the following details:
